OffgridRover / De Jong Energy
OffgridRover MP1200X
Your project decides the location, not the power grid. Tracked mobile hybrid power system. Delivers reliable, sustainable energy anywhere, fully off-grid.
MP1200X
One platform. Six powerful building blocks.
The OffgridRover MP1200X combines solar, wind, industrial battery storage and hydrogen on a self-propelled tracked chassis. The Victron EMS controls every source and monitors the system, locally and remotely. The Rover supports projects where a grid connection is missing, limited or not available in time.

Part 01 · Frame & tracks
Frame on tracks
The base is a self-propelled electro-hydraulic tracked chassis in the 25-tonne class. It carries all modules and drives itself to the right spot, even over soft, unpaved and sloping ground.
A 45 kW electro-hydraulic drive with a Bosch Rexroth hydraulic pump and 600 mm wide tracks delivers up to 323.8 kN of tractive force. The Rover drives at approx. 3 km/h over muddy ground and climbs slopes of up to approx. 24°.
The frame has a corrosion- and salt-resistant coating. On site, hydraulic outriggers ensure a stable set-up. When the project is done, the entire power supply moves along.

Part 02 · Battery
530 kWh main battery
An industrial LiFePO4 main battery delivers instant power to machines, chargers and site cabins. Together with the 230 kWh battery in the solar container and the hydrogen, the MP1200X offers 1.1 MWh of usable energy.
Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) has good thermal stability and a long life: more than 8,000 charge cycles with optimal use. When an excavator or crane suddenly demands high power, the battery absorbs that peak instantly.
64 kWh emergency reserve: a fixed reserve used only to safely fold the solar panels, mast and outriggers, for safety controls, sensors and a short relocation. End users cannot access it; emergency operation works independently without internet. In addition, approx. 10% of battery capacity always remains unused to preserve quality and lifespan.

Part 03 · Wind
30 kW wind turbine
A 30 kW wind turbine with a 12 m rotor diameter on a hydraulic mast with a 16.5 m hub height. While solar panels only produce during the day, the turbine also delivers energy at night as long as there is enough wind.
Wind and sun complement each other: in the dark months and at night it is often windier. Indicatively, the turbine yields 52.6 MWh per year in the Netherlands at a 20% capacity factor. The EMS automatically decides whether energy is used directly or stored.
The hydraulic telescopic mast lifts the rotor high into the wind and lowers for transport or storms. It is prepared for drone radar, Wi-Fi and RF/LTE.
Emergency brake
Slows the turbine in strong wind or on faults
Mast lowers to minimum
Hydraulically down in storms, also via the reserve

Part 04 · Solar
30 kWp solar power
A self-propelled solar container with fold-out bifacial panels. An electrically driven scissor structure unfolds the panels to an operating width of 20.0 m.
The solar container runs on three steerable wheels with hydraulic height adjustment and is radio-controlled so it can be positioned separately. On board: its own 230 kWh battery and 2 × 15 kW Victron hybrid inverters.
Indicative for the Netherlands: 27.0 MWh per year at 900 kWh/kWp/year.

Part 05 · Hydrogen & EMS
A reserve for every season
During longer periods with little sun and wind, hydrogen forms the energy reserve. Electrolysis splits treated water into hydrogen and oxygen. Metal-hydride storage needs no cryogenic cooling and has no boil-off. Fuel cells convert hydrogen back into power.
The Victron EMS coordinates all energy flows. VictronConnect and the VRM Portal monitor and manage solar, wind, batteries, hydrogen and AC/DC centrally: on site and remotely.

Subsidies, schemes & ERE certificates (NL)
Extra income from charging. EREs are tradable emission-reduction units: one ERE represents 1 kg of reduced CO₂ versus fossil fuel. Companies can receive EREs for qualifying renewable electricity supplied to transport and sell them to fuel suppliers. Since 2026 EREs replace the former HBEs (source: Dutch Emissions Authority).
Conditions apply. Correct metering, registration and verification are required. Eligibility of mobile/off-grid charging set-ups must be determined per project; not every kWh delivered by the Rover qualifies.
Indication: € 0.11 to € 0.22 per kWh. This range was supplied, not independently confirmed and is not a guaranteed return.
